Small groups (we call them 'Gates') are the the foundation of our church life. It is within these groups that we can share more openly and encourage one another to grow and develop in our day-to-day walk with Jesus. Small groups are more conducive to loving, productive, accountable relationships – and to focused prayer.
Whether they are centred on a particular location, or formed around an area of interest, Small Groups are always people-focused and run a certain number of outreach projects. From English Classes to weekly football, our desire is to connect with as many people as possible, blessing others and sharing the gospel as we go.

Our newest small group serves all those who live and work in vibrant Camden Town. The weekly meeting is held at Trinity House, where the City Gates office team has recently taken up residence.
Join this dynamic group for Bible study, prayer and passionate worship times.
Family Gate is our small group for husbands, wives and parents. Whether you're preparing for marriage or have your hands full with toddlers, this Gate seeks to be a place of spiritual and practical support at every stage.
A number of connected projects provide safe places in which to nurture our marriages and develop Godly parenting skills. These are suitable for friends and neighbours, too.
A local group for all those on the "south-east" side of things. The weekly meetings will be held at our community house in New Cross.

Sandwiched between Oval cricket ground and the Elephant & Castle roundabout, Kennington Gate is one of the places where you’ll find a cluster of City Gates folk living out the gospel amongst their friends and neighbours.
The weekly small group moves between various homes and focuses on regular Bible study, encouragement and prayer. We also make sure we eat together!
The group seeks to love and bless the people of Kennington by looking for local opportunities. Currently, a cookery class for children has provided a way to meet people and serve the neighbourhood. The group is open to other new ideas.
Our handsome Sunday morning venue is also home to the City Gate small group. Join us at All Hallows for prayer, encouragement and Bible study.
We also run the City Gospel Choir project, through which we meet people from all walks of life.
Do you have a passion to see something practical done for the homeless and vulnerable? Do you want to help disciple those who are responding to the gospel? Then Street Gate is the small group for you.
Street Gate meets every Thursday for food, worship, Bible study and encouragement. In addition, the group leads a number of outreach projects which address the physical and spiritual needs of others.
The group includes people who were previously homeless, as well as others who have a passion to show Jesus’ love to those experiencing homelessness today.
When City Gates began in 1985, it was born from a desire to reach the diverse communities of London’s West End. If you have a similar passion, join Soho Gate!
This small group meets every Thursday at The Living Room - our diminutive tea house and community space just off Brewer Street. It’s here that we support and encourage one another through fellowship and Bible study.
From sex workers to media types, we believe that everyone needs Jesus - and The Living Room also proves a great base for a number of our community-specific outreach projects in this part of central London.
Calling all Millennials! (That’s anyone aged 18-25 to you and me). Y Gate is the small group for you!
Meeting every Wednesday night, we seek to encourage each other through Bible study, worship and prayer. We also like to discuss the issues which affect us as young Christians: how can we best follow Christ in the age of Instagram and iPhones? And what are the most effective ways of reaching our friends – the so-called ‘Generation Y’?
As a new group, we’re still finding our feet, but we hope to start social nights and other connected ministry projects soon. Join us to find out more!
International Gate is a small group for people from every nation. It meets every Thursday at The Living Room - providing a place of fellowship, Bible study and prayer.
Living in London gives us an incredible opportunity to engage with people from every corner of the globe. And since the very beginning, City Gates has been doing just that – with courses, classes and social events. Our heart is to bless all internationals and to support them for as long as they are living in London.
We run a regular conversation class on a Saturday that has been a great place to meet people and help them settle here.
