This passage seems to indicate that the OT prophets (some of them at least) knew that something new was coming, something to do with grace. They knew something of the messianic sufferings that would bring this about.

A few gags that I haven't been able to use during one of my talks. These are things to do on a blind date to make it more entertaining.

At dinner, guard your plate with fork and steak knife, so as to give the impression that you'll stab anyone, including the waiter, who reaches for it.

1Peter 1:3-5

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

v.3

Blessed now, and a prayer that He will be blessed in the future. This is a different word translated "blessed" than the word used in the beatitudes (Matthew 5). Here it means to praise, bless or speak well of. Wheras in Matthew the word used is more about being happy.
