Exodus

Exodus is a Friday night outreach to Soho, for Soho. Launched by City Gates several years ago, it seeks to reach out to those living, working or socialising in what is one of the busiest areas of the West End.

Exodus uses different evangelistic tools to connect with people from all walks of life, with one overriding purpose: to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Most weeks, volunteers split into teams and serve hot drinks at the church centre or from a street-side spot in the local area. The aim is not just to nourish people's bodies, but their souls as well, by offering them conversation, a listening ear and prayer.

At Exodus, there is particular emphasis on the importance of praying for people on the streets, so that passers-by can experience firsthand God's grace and love for them.

The outreach is by no means limited to those who consider themselves 'experienced' evangelists: anyone with a relationship with Jesus and who is integrated into church life is welcome to join.

Newcomers are trained and equipped by being placed alongside a more experienced team member. No weekly commitment is required, although volunteers are encouraged to come at least once or twice a month.
