Red Light Outreach

For many decades, Soho has been known as the home of London's sex-industry. Although the neighbourhood now also houses a vast array of different businesses, it nevertheless remains the heart of London's Red Light District.

City Gates has been reaching out to women who work in prostitution in Soho for over 20 years. At present, the Red Light Outreach has two female teams who do regular door-to-door visits at sex workers' flats, with the aim of building up relationships with the women who live there.

Through these visits, team members seek to express Jesus' love to the women, affirming their uniqueness and the value they have in the eyes of God. Prayer for emotional and physical healing is always offered, and so far, many lives have been touched and healed.

If a woman expresses a desire to escape prostitution, or simply wants to make a positive change in her life, every effort is made to give her practical support. Whenever someone makes a commitment to follow Christ, the team seeks to help her allow God to restore their whole person. It also encourages new believers, through discipleship, to love and serve the Lord wholeheartedly.
