Japanese Friendship Group
The Japanese Friendship Group brings together people of all cultures and backgrounds who have a shared interest in Japan: perhaps because they're actually Japanese, or simply because they're fascinated by the country – its food, film, language and lifestyle.
This cultural group was started by non-Japanese members of City Gates who have had some previous involvement or encounter with Japanese life, and who wanted continue engaging with their experiences.
Among other things, the group aims to build friendships, share culture and facilitate the teaching and exchange of the Japanese language. It does this through occasional get-togethers, such as film and food nights.
As well as creating connections, the Japanese Friendship Group uses its informal activities to welcome people into the City Gates community and celebrate the diversity of church life.
Anyone interested in any aspect of this group is welcome to join in. Please email the church office for further details.
