Thrive (student work)
Each September, over 400,000 students descend on London for the epic adventure that is university.
As many of the people at City Gates can testify, those years as a student in London can be some of the most memorable of times in ones life. But although London is a vibrant, exciting city, without a circle of friends or a solid support network, it can also be pretty lonely.
City Gates has a heart for students and wants to welcome them into its community. The church doesn’t want students just to survive university life, but to thrive: growing in their love of God, each other and the world.
Students are invited to get stuck in with all aspects of church life. There are opportunities to get to know other students, join a home group, become part of a ministry team or help out with a mission activity.
Discipleship is important to the church, so there’s also a chance for students to meet up with someone on a regular basis, usually a recent graduate, for support, friendship and prayer.
