City Gates Gospel Choir

City Gates Gospel Choir was born in the imaginations of a few excited individuals who were passionate about worship and passionate about using gospel to express the Gospel – the good news of Christ.

Since launching in 2008, the choir has performed at various events, including weddings, street missions and live music nights. The line-up often varies, but the vision remains the same.

The choir's main aim is to provide an alternative resource for leading worship in the life of City Gates, whether during Sunday services, evangelistic events or other occasions.

Fellowship is foundational to the choir. It's a great way of meeting new people and introducing non-Christian friends to the church community.

Fun is also a key factor. Christian athlete Eric Liddell once said, 'I run for the Lord's pleasure'. Similarly, choir members sing for the Lord's pleasure, for the sheer joy of enjoying the gift of music he has provided.

The choir is predominantly made up of City Gates folk. Non-church members are welcome to join (rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons), although participation in certain performances relating to evangelism/worship is limited to Christians.
