Home Groups

City Gates is a home group church. This means that small, local meetings are the foundation of our church life together. It is within these groups that we can share more openly and encourage one another to grow and develop in our day-to-day walk with Jesus. Small groups are more conducive to loving, productive, accountable relationships – and to focused prayer.

Home Groups consist of around eight people, meeting weekly in flats and houses around London. Often they meet regularly in one home, but sometimes they may rotate around a number of different homes. A typical meeting will involve a simple meal together, followed by some worship, bible study and prayer time.

Home Groups also form the foundation of our Communities – broad districts within which we make a deliberate effort to love, cherish and support our neighbours... both inside and outside the body of the church. In practice, this means that we make time to pray with one another, play football together, share skills, and say hello to those on our street. In short, we actively seek opportunities to love and bless those around us.
