Being squashed between the colour of Camden and the rolling green of Hampstead, we are an eclectic mix, from 7 year olds through teenagers, single 20's, married 30's to fun loving parents - we're all here (and all fun loving, not just the parents). We find ourselves gathering around the Kentish town and Tufnell park area but stretch to West hampstead and Holloway too - the great rail links make north london community easier than it looks! As a house group we meet each week, rotating between our various houses, to study the bible, sing and support each other. We're not afraid of lively debate and tackling the meatier issues of life, faith and helping each other with the struggle in between. As a community we enjoy hanging out and can often be found 'popping in' on each other. (If you time it right, dinner can accompany that initial cup of tea!). We also actively seek ways of helping each other out and bringing our other friends and family into the mix too. A sociable bunch, we enjoy a good party, dancing, great food, bad telly and walks on the heath. But we're not happy to keep the fun to ourselves and so we also go carol singing each year, round our local streets, have pancake parties and invite our neighbours into christian celebrations within the yearly calander. Kentish Town may not be the world famous Camden, or the pretty village of Highgate, but it has its own rugged charm. With its international high street (Polish, Turkish, Greek, Italian and even some cockney, to name but a few) mixing between pound shops, organic everything and the staple London chains, its got everything without being niche. | |
