| Kennington lies at the southern meeting point of the Northern Line, and in many ways it's also the meeting point of the City and the West End. Nestled here is the hub of the Kennington community: we have five households within half a mile of Kennington Cross, as well as more in Battersea, Teddington, Brixton and South Bank. We're a diverse bunch of people, including students, families and young professionals. As a community, we enjoy 'doing' life together, from playing football and watching DVDs, to picnicking in the park and hanging out at a local watering hole. We have two home groups –in Kennington and Oval. Every six weeks with the South East we all come together for 'A Food Beginning with P, and Prayer'. The highlight of this event so far has to be the Pizza and Prayer evening, when somehow we collectively managed to bring 30 pizzas! Best known for the Oval cricket ground, Kennington is also lesser known for hosting the first FA Cup Final. The area unites a very cosmopolitan group of people: many politicians have London homes here, while there is a huge Portuguese-speaking community and large West African and Caribbean communities. | ![]() |
